1. What We Collect

When you use Kaido, we may collect:

• Documents you upload — for analysis only (see retention policy below)
• Account information — email address and password (if you create an account)
• Usage data — document types analyzed, languages selected, features used
• Payment information — processed by Stripe; we never store card details

2. Document Retention

We offer two modes:

• Zero Retention Mode — your document is analyzed and immediately deleted from our servers. We store only the analysis result (not the original document), and only if you are logged in.
• Standard Mode — your document is stored encrypted for up to 30 days, then automatically deleted. You can delete it sooner from your dashboard.

We never use your documents to train AI models without your explicit consent.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the Service
• To send transactional emails (analysis complete, account notifications)
• To process payments
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your documents with third parties except as required to provide the Service (e.g., Anthropic Claude API for analysis, Supabase for storage).

4. Third-Party Services

• Anthropic Claude API — processes your documents for analysis. Subject to Anthropic's privacy policy.
• Supabase — stores encrypted account data and analysis results.
• Stripe — processes payments. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
• Vercel — hosts the application.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Download your analysis history
• Opt out of non-essential communications

6. GDPR (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal basis for processing is your consent (for document analysis) and contract performance (for paid services).

7. CCPA (California Users)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

8. Security

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. However, no system is 100% secure. Please use Zero Retention Mode for highly sensitive documents.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the Service.
